Im looking for some opinions on what would be best to get. I have had avg free and it has left me with a virus that was detected by norton 360 free trial. I have removed the norton trial becsuae it made my pc so slow. Im not interested in mcafee either.. Any suggestions?

I highly recomend Kaspersky. I think its one of the best virus softwares. I had Norton, and Mcaffee and both of them could'nt find this msn trojan that I had. So one of my friends recomended Kaspersky. I installed it and boom with in the first few minutes it found! I have been trojan free for the pass two years. Also not too mention that is light on the load unlike the other two. Hope that helps.

Hi! I have recently dealt with nasty virus issues as work and have done tons or research and trial and error. It is impossible for each anti-virus program to catch all viruses, as I found out. I had to use a combination of AVG, Spybot, AdAware, Windows Defender and SuperAntiSpyware (I know it sounds like a scam but found viruses that nothing else would and is highly recommended on CNet and other sites). I ended up having to perform other actions and download some very specific "shredders" for particularly nasty viruses/Trojans. At home, I use Windows Defender, AdAware and Spybot. Of interest, the Symantec AntiVirus my company pays hundreds of dollars for did not find any of the nasty trojans or viruses that had taken over my computer. Most Tech Forums recommend against paying for anti-virus software as the free ones are mostly excellent once you realize hat there is not one that is 100% effective against all viruses. Beware of most random sounding anti spyware, though, as they often install he trojan/virus/spyware themselves, then want you to pay them to remove it! CNET.com is a great source for downloads and reviews. I hope this helps :)
