i got my new gibbicep today carefully chosen from the pet shop and all seemed to be well, until i saw him and the other gibbi not sticking to the tank so well. they get on the glass then seem to slide down the glass it's quite comical but i'm really worried. anyone any ideas why this might be? hungar, water quality? i also wanted to know if anyone knew of these fish attacking each other as i noticed the one ive had a week chasing the new one. can they harm each other or is this just dominance or play?

Still eating? Good color?

Gibbies are very territorial, and they can indeed hurt each other. Without adequate space and hiding areas, the larger one will likely kill the smaller one.

they are approximatly 2inchs at the moment how much space should they have each? as a general rule? they have a lot of plants and natural materials to hide in and im getting some bogwood so hopefully they won't kill each other

In the 75g range each...

It may seem a bit extremely, but I had a 2 gibbis in a 75g and it killed the other. They are VERY territorial when mature.
