Lowering pH without the headache

What is the best way? I am trying to give my Angels a nice soft pH, but my tap water is 7.5+! Peat is an option, but I really don't want brown water. Sodium Biphosphate is a temporary fix, and very flawed. So what can I do? Help mw, aquartist studs!

what about mixing RO water with your tap? you can just mix the RO water in the get the hardness you are looking for.

Sorry for the newbie question, but what is RO and how expensive/practical is it?

For a tank that will house Angels I'd use live plants and add CO2. That will lower your pH. What is your KH? Have you ever tested for that before? It's just a measure of your buffering ability to stop pH swings. I don't know how much you know about aquariums, so I don't mean to tell you this if you already know what it means (you said you were newbie)
