Lowest cost and easiest way to eliminate green hair, bubble, turf and slime algae

How well does this work when the screen isn't roughed up? I have some oto's and would love to put the screen above my bubble wand (which is where most of my lighting is) to give them a place where all my algae grows without having something sharp on their delicate mouths. Is it feasible and will I see a decrease in algae in the rest of the tank or just another place for it to grow?

A smooth screen won't grow as much because it will let go. But for feeding it will let go anyway.

I think spirulina dominates because it's easily grown; attached seaweed is hard to grow.

With the hang on glass version does it need to be tight against the glass. And would this work if you already have some algea in the tank.

It only needs to be tight if you are trying to keep bubbles out.

Yes it will work if there is already algae. After a few full cleanings of the screen, the algae in the tank will start going away.

Don't forget to post your pics :)

In the pics it says to use magnets or suction cups how would those be attached. How long would it take for the current algea to go away. How often do you have to clean it.

Deductive reasoning. Market value for fish and humans. Holistic herbal supplement companies farm spirulina, which isn't the easiest to algae to grow.

Always wanted a algae scrubber for the sump, but space is at a premium. Nice idea and seems like it could be modified for many purposes
