Mafia 61: The Gunslinger - Sign Up

Once again the mafia has invaded ACville. In their attempt to run the town, the mafia has even gone so far as to rig the election for local sheriff. As usual, the town wants the mafia out...

Setup
Nightless; 8 vanilla townies vs. 4 mafia.
The mafia pick a townie to be the first gunslinger.
The town discuss amongst themselves, and the gunslinger picks someone to target by posting "Shoot Meemee" or similar.
If their target is mafia, the target dies and the gunslinger keeps the gun.
If their target is town, the gunslinger dies and the target becomes the new gunslinger.
Repeat until all mafia are dead, or the mafia's numbers equal the non-gunslinging townies.

Deadlines will be 48 hours. If the deadline hits, the gunslinger will shoot themselves and the mafia pick a new gunslinger. The gunslinger is announced publicly each day, and is therefore confirmed innocent.

Any player not posting for 48 hours will die an untimely death (UD).


Roles

Vanilla Townie

You are a vanilla townie. You win when all members of the mafia are eliminated.

Mafia Goon

You are a mafia goon. Your partners are Player X, Player Y, and Player Z. You may communicate at any time in the forum provided. You win when the number of living mafia members equal or exceed the number of living townies, minus the gunslinger.

The Gunslinger (always pro-town) receives input from the town, but ultimately they make the final decision as to who is targeted....

As there won't be any voting trails this game, it'll be important for the Gunslinger (and other townies) to thoroughly question each other, in order to identify links between players.

Yes. The first gunslinger is selected by the mafia (from among the townies), but the gunslinger remains allied with the town, trying to shoot mafia members. Along with the rest of the town, the gunslinger knows that they were chosen as the first gunslinger by the mafia. They don't, however, know which players are mafia.

So basically after picking the first one the mafia just sit around and hope that they aren't hit? I guess they try to keep the gunslinger from hitting themselves.
