Welcome to the Mafia game... an unfortunately highly addicting game. Everyone who wants to play will be assigned a random role in our new little town.
Most will be innocents. People who just want to live a good life. Some will be mafia, who want to eliminate all the innocents and run the town. One will be a detective who can try to determine who is innocent and who is mafia.
Game play will be divided into 'days' and 'nights'. During the day, the game thread will be 'open' and everyone can discuss things. At the end of the 'day' the townsfolk (including the mafia and detective) can vote to lynch someone. That player will be gone and everyone will know what role he or she played.
At night, the detective and the mafia go to work. The detective can pick someone to investigate and will be told their role. The mafia will choose someone to 'send to sleep with the fishes'. I'll set-up a special mafia den for the mafia members to hang out and discuss their plans and who they will eliminate.
The game ends either when the last Mafia member is killed or the Mafia members gain a majority during the day. Ties go to the Mafia. The innocents have no way of voting off mafia members at this point, but the mafia can still kill each night.
Days will last about 36hrs or whenever the townspeople come to a consensus. Nights will last about 12 hours or whenever I here from the detective and the mafia.
