Mail Order Stock

I'm currious to know what type of luck people have had orderinng fish from these different websites. Who's a reputable dealer and who's not?

I've been looking at all the fish offered on the net (particularly: http://www.riverwonders.com) and they sale things that I just can't get at the LFS.

I live in the Chicago area and its surprising that the more exotic freshwater fish are hard to find in stores. Everyone has the Pet Smart type setup with standard gold fish, some ciclids, tetras and gouramis.

I'm worried about shipping with Internet orders and receiving dead fish or not what I ordered. Any opinions would be helpful.

I haven't used them.

I have heard great things about **************** though. Very nice insured quick shipping. I think they only ship 1 day at the latest. Heatpacks in the winter and everything.

Still not cheap though.

Thanks for the tip. Do you know how stressed the fish get in shipping? I find it amazing that there is a big mail order pet fish business at all.

Give www.fish2u.com a try. I have ordered from them many times with a 100% success rate and a 100% satisfaction rate. I have been to their facilities and I'm actually good friends with the owners son. They are one of the largest wholesale dealers in the state of Florida...actually, I believe they are the largest and breed most of their fish or get them from local breeders. Highly recommended!

For New World Cichlids, Jeff Rapps is the best. Dealt with him twice already and was impressed not only with the quality of fish but the way they were packaged. I haven't lost any of the fish i got from him.

i agree with Aquatick. fish2u is a great place. i recently placed a order and had no fish loss. all are doing great except for a couple that passed for other reason.
