Hi all,

My Betta tank has had a spike in ammonia (I presume I overfed), but its at a level which isn’t safe for the fish. Can I move him to my community tank and keep him in a large breeder net? He wouldn’t be able to see out, as it’s mesh. I don’t want to risk damaging his health by keeping him in the current tank....

Thanks,
Toby

What's your water change schedule and amount changed on your betta tank? I'd address that first. Do water changes and use a good dechlor/water treatment like seachem prime to treat the tap water. If you have ammonia spikes, sounds like there's an insufficient cycle in this tank.

In terms of keeping a male betta in a community tank, that's my favorite way to keep them provided what's in there won't nip, bully him.
