Maracide - Use for 30day for ich?

rasing the temp is generally used to speed the lfiecycle of ich..it can ,however, be raised high enough to kill the ich.
salt can kill ich in itself..it changes the specific gravity of the water making it inhospitable for the ich parasite(tomites-freeswimming ich) the salt actually messes up the ichs cells by creating a hypersalinity the chemistry of the parsite..it is simply not able to adjust to the high salt level outside the cell.(the converse is used to treat marine ich create hyposalinity environment outside the ich) the idea is based on the need for homeostasis and messes up the cell wall of the parasite.

in essence the cell walls either explode or implode(collapse)

If you do use salt and raise the temp it will kill it much faster and be way less stressful to your fish then meds. I would go 4-5tsp to each 10 gallons of salt and get that temp to 83-84 for 5 days and that should take care of things.

The heat would kill the rossies, not to mention I don't have a heater in this tank (and I'm afraid to put one in a rubbermaid)

I used the heat only method in my community tank and even the mountain minnows came through it like troopers. Temp was upped to 88 slowly then left for 3 days. Lowered it back down a degree at a time after that and no more ich.
