Looks like there is a Marineland Heater recall, any one who has Stealth or Pro Stealth can take advantage.

Major issues: wiring problem, may cause to shatter, or may break the glass of the aquarium. Injury is also a concern!

I just bought a marineland heater.... Hopefully it isn't a pipe bomb.

Again? I know there was one about 2 years ago and the recall info on the Marineland site doesn't have a date on it...never had an issue with their old stealths, think it was a newer line that was melting/exploding on people.

I don't believe they mfg the stealth models. the recall has been ongoing for a couple years.

Unless they sold you old stock you should be ok, I think its been like 2 years since Marineland stopped making the stealth's. The Visitherm's they currently sell are safe.

I have 3 visitherms, the title freaked me out. Why are they still doing the recall, shouldnt it have been fixed by now?

I was thinking the same thing. This has to be the original recall from a couple of years ago. I can't imagine they'd have another major recall after that one. That would destroy customer loyalty for sure.

Looks like any unit from 2009, just got a letter from United Pet Group, they sent it to all their customers
If you just bought one I would play it safe and return it, I did that with mine over a year a go.

The recall was just the plastic Stealth and Stealth Pro heaters that they made up until 2011. This is old news.
