Marineland's C-series Canisters: Good, bad or just dog ugly?

I like the C-series because I feel like I get more filter for the money. And I've heard nothing but great reviews from the people who use them. Plus, you can't beat getting a C-220 for under 100 dollars at the LFS! (I love employee discounts.)

i'd be willing to debate that (there literally is no bypass in ehiems while you can get bypass in the C-series) that being said i haven't tried and ehiem yet so i reserve judgement for those who have tried both

I've heard many good things about Eheim's classic filters.

Pretty sure that is what I'm going to upgrade to.

these are them. really simple design that allot of people consider some of the best canister filters around.

i just ran a search on eheim using yahoo. those guys amde the heater i bought. quality workmanship.

the eheim canisters are european, so im guessing they are a little pricey with those labor laws over there.

lol, i think i opened pandora's box with this. i bet there's alot of canister filters out there that are good too!
i guess i have some work to do!

really there are alot but the most popular are these Ehiem, Marineland C-series, Rena X's, Fluvals, the Marineland Magnums.

say, where are the best prices fron online retailers on filters?

i know about petco's website and they seem really expensive, at least when compared with ebay.
but ebay is somebody trying to make money out of their home, so it's kind of differrent.

ebay i think is the cheapest really, another great site is Ken's i think it may have some of the cheapest prices after ebay.
