Hiya folks. I've been avoiding my aquarium because of this problem.. riccia has grown almost 2" thick over the surface of my tank. The planted plants underneath are really getting a sore deal out of this. Any suggestions for what to do with my riccia? Thinking about tying around it with nylon string and fashioning it into a giant ball! It is home to a host of friendly snails that I could not harm. Need ideas please, I cannot confront this situation without a plan! :shark:
Thanks!

Yes you can tie it down with fishing string to a rock or such.

As long as Riccia has sufficient light, it should be OK living on the bottom.

You could send it to me! =)

But yes, you can tie it down to a rock or some wood and it should be fine, given you have adequate lighting.

Robert H seems to have figured it out. the only other thing i can add is craigslist as a place to sell it or give it away. riccia is one of my fav plants so far. at lest around me there is a big demand for it.

lol....seems to have figured out? =P

Have you checked out www.aquabotanic.com lately? ;)

Haha. Now I get it. I've been tagging along for a little while :P
Does anyone know if he ships to Canada?
I can't find many decent plants up here, and I can find the majority of them on his site!!

well, I've decided that riccia is too high-maintenance for me and removed the bulk of it from my main tank. I would love to give it away or sell it but unfortunately it's contaminated with duckweed and some type of grass weed. Thank you forever, Flordia Driftwood! :mad2:

At the moment I have all of it moved to my lil 8 gallon tank. There are probably a hundred snails living all up in there. Any takers? :joke:
