word of advise to everyone, make sure your maxi-jet pumps are hidden in the rock. this weekend i have lost a yellow tang and 2 seahorses!! They got stuck to the IN FLOW. NOT NICE!! my poor tang was bleeding!! ;(
on a good note....least it wasnt my water quality!! still not happy though!!

Yeah, it does happen quite a lot with powerheads that work with a strainer covering the intake. People generally wrap some thin sponge around the strainer and secure with elastic bands...ensure that they are regulary cleaned, but, the cleaning part is worth it when it comes to loosing livestock...

Sorry for the losses indeed...

ok, thanks for your help. i only have clowns now. so i think ill get away with it! Im going to stick with the clowns for a few months!! my pockets are dry bcos this hobby!!!

ha ha ha ha...this is what happens sometimes..

I know it cannot help what has happened, but, just something to bear in mind for future when you decided to buy some more live stock...

You should probably still cover the intakes somehow. I've heard many stories of clownfish meeting the same fate as your other fish.

wow, I'm surprised to read all these posts. i haven't seen any of my animals go near my maxi jet powerheads.

Now I'm a little concerned.

My tang and foxface eat the seaweed that gets stuck on the strainers of my maxi jets,Havne't had a problem with them or any other fish getting stuck on them,,will be keeping an eye out though.
