MBUNA

Mbuna are considered aggressive to most people and most people do not like aggressive fish.

I on the other hand think that a well stocked tank with the right species and the right ratios can make an active and colorful tank. :)

Interesting. I always had that kind growing up so i am found of them. Needless to say i stocked my 210 with them (all different fun colors)/////
I really enjoy their behavior, although i do agree they are very aggressive.

aren't the South american Cichlids more aggressive than these though???
My brother has some Jaguar cichlid that kills everything in sight.

Yep alot of people tend to stock an mbuna tank with a readily available mbuna they can find at most big chain stores or mixed african tanks in lfs's, which are usually the most aggressive species like crabro, chipokae, auratus, kenyi, etc... Once you venture outside the norm you can have a nice, "peaceful" to a point setup.

Can't say I agree that I've seen 'em badmouthed on here at all.

Its all about the right fish, the right tank, the right mix of fish in the tank.

No prob :) I didn't think you sounded angry at all.

In the wrong set-up...or stocked badly, they are the worst option and could turn you off keeping fish. There's just a little bit of a nack to them.
