We had the opportunity to adopt a Greyhound pup. He's 8 weeks old and weighs a whole 8 pounds. This isn't our 1st Grey. We had a retired racer that had to be put down due to old age a 2 years ago. It should be interesting to see what kind of dog he turns out to be because he's never seen the track.

Meet Spyder (from Mars).....

Nice puppy!

As in Ziggy Stardust? Very cute puppy, I love greyhounds and kudos to you for previously rescuing a retired racer......

Nice dog. First pic looks a bit like a werewolf to me

Yep. We were driving home and Bowie was on the radio and I said to my wife, "How about Ziggy" and we both liked it, but then the spider from Mars part came on and Spyder was the name.

Spyder Melman. Melman from Madagascar. lol.

It fits with the long legs and the way he scurries around.

My wife introduced me to Greys and the way the industry abuses them. In fact a while back we took Tiger Shark with us to a protest at the track in Connecticut. From what we hear the industry is getting better with the regulations and new generation of owners. In fact Greyhound Angels Adoptions (a shameless plug for them) said they would never have gotten puppies 10 years ago. They would have been either aborted or killed. They had two litters from accidental births that couldn't be registered to race, so we were able to get a puppy. Greyhounds are such great dogs. It's a shame the way they are treated.

The profile of his head reminds me of my dog. Really nice pup - Good luck with him. IMG_0325.JPG
