So someone on craigslist is selling micro worms to culture and use as a live food source for fish... good or bad?

It's good for a few days or weeks for fry but not if feeding as a major food source. I usually feed microworms to fry that are a few days old but switch to live BBS once the fry are able to eat BBS or the BBS doesn't hatch and I need to feed the fry that day.

They are very small, I am assuming you are planning to use it for fry. If thats the case yes they are good for fry, but they are so tiny adult fish may not be able to see them.

They are also fairly easy to keep, I believe all you need is blended oat meal and a little water. Just be warned while it's rare live food can carry parasites of some type. Safest "live food" is frozen food where you can be sure it's dead. But most fry will only eat life food.

Another option is getting something like Hikari first bites, or I think ken's fish has a fry food as well. They are both flakes though and won't be eatin by all fry.

BBS= Baby Brine Shrimp

It's true, the microworms are far too small for most adult fish, who probably won't even notice the worms are in the tank and floating in the water.

That being said, they are good for young fry. Also, very small fish, fish with small mouths and bottom feeders like kuhli loaches and pygmy cories will still savor them once they've collected in the substrate. Plus, I see you have an RCS tank -- those guys LOVE microworms.

all of my fry love them...killi fry...guppies, convicts, and paradise fish.

they aid in fast fry growth and super easy to keep..my adult guppies even pick them out of the water..everyone loves them^_^.
