My 2.5 gallon reef tanks is still chugging along at about three weeks. Used 3lbs of really well cured live rock, brought it home in a bucket of saltwater, and apperently skipped the cycle completely. I have started to add what i call "freebee frags" from work (polyps and zoos that have grown onto shells or fragged off larger pieces). I don't want to have to dump alot of nutrients into such a small tank in order to feed them (there are only three). I was wondering what size prey items most polyps eat? I keep a constant supply of live microworms and bbs for my freshwater tanks, and was wondering if either would be of any benefit in a reef setup? How would I feed them? Target feeding with filter on/off? Just drop them in?

I don’t feed my polyps. Good lighting and fish organic load will do fine. If you over skim or have hardly any fish, the recommendation is to feed more to your fish, and the more waste they will produce. Rotifers are one of the best to offer corals.
