Might get a seastar. I'm a little rusty on keeping marine aquariums.

Making a 10g reef tank is already extreme :-P

Not to be silly or anything but you can have fun relationships with the shrimp.. I used to hand feed my cleaner skunk and my camel shrimp.

lol, my mantis shrimp tank is about a foot away from my pillow. the snaps remind me hes alive and happy and that in itself helps me sleep :D

i had a ten gallon peppermint shrimp tank (same genus as blood shrimp) and it just didnt do it for me...

Exactly.

So tell me, how is this for a ten gallon tank for a pistol/mantis shrimp?

1. Marine Salt
2. Coral sand
3. Elite Mini filter
4. Several live rocks

Do you think I need anything else or anything different? This is just a list of the main supplies I need. When I had this ten gallon tank of small anemones I did perfectly fine with this.

i would get a hang on back filter, so you have more space in the tank. and make sure you have plenty of rock for either shrimp to live in. i have a bunch of LR rubble with my mantis which he routinely moves during his "renovations"

The elite filter is actually really small.
