Saw the other day ay my lfs a Millennium 3000 wet/dry hang on filter. Anyone know or heard of these. If so are they any good or just a catchy design to get you to buy one.

i saw them in the store but never bought one. they looked pretty much the same as all the rest, just a flashy box. probably the same as a whisper.....

i prefer bio-wheels like emperors.

I've wondered the same thing myself. I haven't bought a filter for myself in over ten years -- all three of my tanks have HOB wet dry filters made by Second Nature (since bought out by Whisper). I love them. But the impeller motors are starting to make whirring sounds and I've been wondering what I'll do. The fact that the number (3000) is the same as the nomenclature on mine, might suggest it has a similar ancestry.

Please let me know if you do buy one! If it works half as well as my old W/D filters, it's a bargain....

i run a fluval 204 and a milennium 2000 on my 75G and love it. the media tends to clog quickly, but i just pull it out and rinse it in the sink every week during my waterchanges. so far, the only problem i have had is cleaning the intake tube, because it is shaped like a U and it's hard to get my flexible brush in there. i would highly recommend this filter, because it works well and is very cheap.
