Mineral Rock?

Has anyone purchased a "Mineral Rock" that is marketed for color enhancement for fish and shrimp?

These are the claims:

- The rich natural elements enhance the creamy white color of shrimps and colour of fishes and keep them healthy

aquatouch sells them. i bought three and put them in my tank wednesday with 14 crystal black shrimp.

contains heavy metals... readddd!!! and silica for that matter(mmmmm silica)

Never used them but from what I've read, they seem very helpful to those with soft water, not so helpful for those with harder water. I know that sounds elementary since soft water is low in minerals and hard water is rich in minerals AND it's a mineral rock. You've probably already googled montmorillonite.
