I knew our water was hard, but...the biowheel actually feels sandy 
and it looks like there's actually minerals inside the filter around the biowheel and ON the biowheel too. I put my finger in, and there's actually mineral/sand stuff on my finger. There's no fish as currently I'm fishless cycling, but this doesn't sound good at all. I could definatly use some help/advice on what to do, or to do nothing.
