Some pumps may have some sand in it such as the Whisper model 4(aproxx. 300GPH), I also spliced the wire on the pump to wire in a on/off click switch. Skilter 250 is no longer a skimmer but can be used as a refugium, has teflon tape surrounding o-ring to preven leaking. Pumps may require Cleaning.
