Mixed African tank

I really think you should be looking for a tank upgrade instead of adding more fish. That tank is way too small for the africans you are keeping. Good luck finding a new tank.

:iagree:...and try to find that big new tank ASAP.

A 29gal Gourami tank would be sweet get you like 5 small Pearl Gourami a few cory's cats, Unless you were willing to do a Shellie tank or a small Dwarf cichlid tank species tank i wouldn't go with Mbuna that get big because it will eventually be one single large Mbuna only setup..

I agree a bigger tank is better, but to your question, I had a pair of convicts in my 150 gallon african tank for many years. My tank is mainly Labeotropheus trewavasae, yellow labs, exasperatus, and some kenyi hybrids.

well I have done it and they are all good, I have 4 convicts only planned on 2 but my guy hooked me up with more so no complaining, I added 4 gourms but only 1 has made it cause the girl that fixed the bag dropped them on the floor before I left and it took my guy to call that night to tell me what the hell happened so they are going back in a day or two just sitting on ice right now. I have added 4 juvie yellow labs to the mix also. Reason I am doing this is because I am about to get a couple of big tanks in the next week or two and so I was getting what I wanted now to treat and let them go ahead and get used to everyone and some of their new tank mates.
