Ok here is the deal. I bought playsand for my 75 gallon tank. I really like the look of it, but it seems every time move something on the bottom it stirs it up. So I wanted to add some aquarium gravel on top to help control the sand and give it some color, but I endedup up pretty much covering the sand with a fine layer of the new gravel. Is this going to cause problems, since I will not be strirring the sand everytime I vaccum?
If that is a problem, would I be ok if I throughly mixed the sand and gravel, instead of letting it coat the top of the sand. I do not have any thing in the tank now so if I need to fix something please let me know.

You can mix them with no problem. The sand will always stir a little, most people rinse the sand to get all the small stuff our of it so it will not stir as easy. The nice thing about sand is that the fish poo just sits on top. You can do what you think look best for your tank, as you clean the tank the gravel will start to sink in the sand and you will have a mix. As for stiring sand when you clean some sites say that you must stir the sand to keep bad things from building up in it, but I know there are people here who do not stir their sand and have no problems.
