Plantex csm+b is a "poor mans drip dosing" micronutrient solution that closely mimics flourish. I was going to add my weekly amount of micronutrients and when i poured the 5mls out there was chunky mold or bacteria growing in the bottle. I assume this is common but i dumped it all out. I have heard of people adding HCl to keep the sol'n clear of mold. does anyone do this? i was thinking that adding a fair amount of salt would achieve the same effect. please help!!!!!

I've had that problem once (not with Plantex per se, but a similar micro product). I didn't risk it and ended up pouring down the mixture anyways (it wasn't that much anyways, I never mix up a large batch).

From then on, I've always stored it in the fridge (properly labelled to avoid any "accidents") and I've never seen the mold.

As I recently found out, fungi tend to grow in Plantex unless it is refrigerated. However, even if you don't keep it in the fridge, and it get fungal on you, it will not affect the Plantex solution or effectiveness at all. It's just nasty, that's it. ;)

I think that I would select a different brand.
What brand would you select?
