So I look in the 10gal today and there are 3 mollie fry, about 1/4 of an inch long. there is one black molly in there and two dwarf honey gouramis, and 6 ghost shrimp. i was thinking of removing the fry and placing them in a 1 gal with plenty of java fern and some anacharis, and doing water changes each day. unfortunately i have no extra heater, but the temp in this house never gets below 72 anyways. does anyone have any input on this idea?

also, just to note: I have had this molly for about 6 weeks, but only in the past week have I been feeding lots of zucchini, algae tabs, lettuce, etc.. and bang, babies. But only 3 :(

Female mollie usually are pregnant when you buy them there were probly more but they ate them and those are the 3 smart ones, Good luck!

how long have they been in the tank now ??? if it has been a couple of days then i wouldnt worry about them they wont get eaten now .. they usually just get eatin the first day .. after that what survives is gonna survive ..

Not the case with me, had a 20 gallon with sailfins, i bought a pregnant one, had about 20 or so, next morning there were 10 or so and that night there were none, the aquarium was full of plants, 20 plants or so, and the back was layered with java moss.

The babies will be fine in the 1g untill they start to grow put them in there, tempreture will not be an issue.
