Molly eggs?

i thought u've just said mollies are livebearer?

or u're referring to my avatar? my avatar is my dead puffer.

I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!! the eggs I mentioned earlier, I think it belong to chinese algae eater!!! and I have lots of fry now!! LOTS of them!! more than 10 and less than 20... tough to count as they swim in group now.. wow!!! this is my 1st time having fishes breeding in my tank!!!!! No words can well describe my feeling!!! I'm so so happy.. is like my 1st time being a father!!! I didn't know until today after I came from work....

congrats raymond. what else do you have in your tank? just in case they are'nt CAE fry. Hopefully someone here can give you some tips on how to raise them right. (Keep them away from drugs and gangs, make sure they get good grades in school etc :D)

Now I'm not sure whether it belong to mollies or chinese algae eater... anyway, i attach here a picture of my fry.. hope you guys can help me...

It's deffinatelly not the molly. Like everyone says, they don't lay eggs, they give birth to live young.
If there's nothing else in the tank then they must be CAE fry. Well done! Never heard of anyone breading CAE before. Keep us posted as to how they're getting along.

p.s. time for you to do some research on how to rear fry I think. :)

okay, here's the situation...

I bought 2 mollies and 2 CAE on the same day from LFS. I bought them 2 days ago (11-Apr, 6PM). I use them to cycle my tank which is my initial plan. Then today (13-Apr, 6:30PM) I found so many fries in my tank. As everyone say, mollies are livebearer while CAE are egg-layers. So, is it possible for CAE to lay eggs in tank and hatch in 2 days? Or make more sense if the mollies I bought is pregnant and now they deliver fry today?

If you are not sure that the fry came from the "goooey mass", then the fry are probably from a molly that was pregnant when you brought her home. The fry in the picture look too well developed to be newly hatched fry. Based on the development time for other fish, they would not be free swimming yet if they hatched from eggs.

I vote Mollie. Changes in water conditions often cause a female to give birth. It happens all the time when I move my guppies around.

Enjoy the fry, it's alot of fun to watch them grow up.

The pics don't look like molly fry, either though...

How long ago were the previous inhabitants of the tank in there? And what were they? CAE fry typically are smaller, more stream lined in shape.

it doesnt look like molly and it doesnt look like CAE, then what could it be? coz' the only inhabitants in the tank now is only 2 mollies and 2 CAE. hmm.... now keeps me wondering...
