I just thought of a way to use bulk filter floss or Ehfisynth in your Pro or Pro II instead of the Ehfisynth pads. Lay the floss on top of the Ehfisubstrat in an equal manner, and then lay a cut-to-fit piece of counted crosstitch plastic canvas overtop of the floss. It will keep the floss out of the impeller. Anyone ever tried this?

No but I will. I'd suggest a thorough cleaning first. You never know what oils etc may be on that stuff.

I use polyester batting that are sold on wallmart or fabric stores on my eheims.
I find these cheaper than filter floss.
Just make sure they are hypoallergenic or thermal bonded ones so there'll be no starch or other resins to worry about.
