Hi,

Can anyone ID these plants for me?

This one is some type of fern, but I haven't been able to ID it yet as all the ferns I've seen on line have been a little more "bushy":

This one has big leaves (3" across) and the stems are really tough - almost like wire:

Again, some kind of fern, but the fronds don't look like anything else I've seen online:

I think this last one is some kind of fanwort, but sometimes I think it's cabomba:

Any help would be greatly appreciatted.

I'd also be interested to know if anyone has had any success with Purple Waffle. I bought some at the LFS (where "we don't know the names of any of our plants!"), came home and ID'd it, then found out it's a bog plant and will eventually die if kept submerged. Just wondered if anyone had a "good" experience with it (or any suggestions on what I should do with it now I own some!).

As always, thanks in advance.

the first im not too sure about but i think is a type of rotala. the second one doesnt look like a water plant. 3rd im not sure. 4th has cabomba on the left and anachris on the right. purple waffle is not an aquatic plant and will fall apart over time. best to plant it where the top leaves are out of the water and it can continue growing emersed, maybe a vase by a window or a terrarium.

First is Rotala Wallichii, second is non aquatic, third is Rotala sp. 'Nanjenshan', and fourth is cabomba on left and anacharis on right.

Both Rotalas need high light and co2 to grow well. Even with both I have had a hard time growing the Rotala sp. 'Nanjenshan'.
