Mosquito Larve..Good 4 food?

what do you mean by harvest, I just left a bowl of water and a whole heap appeared so i chucked a lid on it and they got rather large, some turned into mosquito's.

what would you have me do?

harvest= collect you have to get the lavea before they grow to mozzies and you dont want lots of mozzies around if ur in queensland with yellow fever etc

no, I don't believe they are sparyed with toxin's around the area. I have collected them already and I'm keeping them in a bowl, I'm just going to scoop them up and put some into my 5gal tank, and hope my kuhli loach accepts

If you think this would be a go, please tell.

Mosquito larvae are healthy food for fish in general. I have fed my fish them before and they loved them. As for yours being safe, I'm not going to venture a guess. I live in Canada and you in Australia, so I really have no idea if yours would be safe or not.

They are great food, but where do you live? You should be very careful managing mosquito larvae out of concern for your own health, not just the fish. When I lived in Asia I had to be very cautious about contracting denghi (sp) and other diseases during the "harvesting" process. Standing water is a bredding ground for disease, so I think it would be better to try something else if you are in an at-risk area.
