This is just heartbreaking. Ohio Fish Rescue rescues a 36" 40-50 lbs pacu from a 6' tank. The poor thing has been there for 18 years.
It wasn't even able to turn. As if the regular rescues with fish that can turn but have less space to swim as a platy in a bag you buy from the lfs aren't bad enough...

Please don't get 'monster type fish such as red tailed cats, "sharks", pacu's, pleco's, sturgeons to name a few. They will outgrow the tank if they don't die young, and the fish rescues and public aquaria can't take them all. Fish don't adapt to the size of their tank. Correct people who say they do. There are plenty of interesting or beautiful fish that stay small.

Yes I agree with you but people who have abnormally big tanks can still keep them but don't keep them in 6' tank that is cruel!! What was that guy thinking!!!
