Should I move my convict fry so it will be easier for me to feed them and so when the parents are ready to spawn again they wont eat this batch? But will this effect them from having future spawns?
i own red zebras but never had an oscar.however, yes i move my fry not only to make feeding them a lot easier but to also keep them safe.it has never interfered with the parents wanting to spawn again.
good luck
Move them babies whenever you want. Shouldn't hurth them a bit. You will have to feed them though.
Your Con's will breed again in probably a week or so. Mine do.
And Ive never had a problem with parents eating their fry.
I have had my convicts breed with older fry still in the tank. I have seen the older siblings eating the younger ones, but never saw any fry eaten by the parents.
The female will generally move her fry around by sucking them into her mouth and then spitting them out. Some people confuse this with them being eaten.
