MSNBC seems to care less

Holy Criminoly, its a runaway thread!!! :dog: Lassie save us!

I don't know the full story of what happened in the past that made the here and now so screwed up. All I know is that if we all pull together to do what we can to fix it, then we've done all we can do. Our Pastor often says something that really helps me check myself when finger pointing. Anytime you point one finger at somebody else you have three pointed back at yourself. Just point your finger at the screen and you'll see what I mean. When I started this thread I just wanted to know why certain people who seemed like they could do more weren't.(the News Reporters) Quite a few people came up with some quite reasonable answers, but maybe I should have just realized that when other people don't help it's not my place to say anything unless I can change the situation. My church will be helping the situation in every way we know how. I've heard a few of you say the same thing. And I know lots of others are donating time, resources, or whatever they can to other causes. If any of you aren't sure what you can do to help, maybe you could watch the movie "Pay it Forward", that'll give you some ideas.

I don't remember who was talking about the people who live in Florida along the coastline, but I really didn't appreciate that comment. I live in that area, and quite frankly, your thoughts are untrue about the kind of people who live here. "Stars", and rich people etc. are the minority.

LOL! :soda: Look at your hand when you point, not the reflection in the screen!

????????????????????
You kinda look at both, when you point your finger at a CRT monitor it looks like you have about 4 fingers, caused by the reflection of the monitor and your hand being there.

Its both.

I tried it and it doesn't work on mine...guess it's the lighting...

As someone who has owned property down in Biloxi from 1992-1999, can I just add this... I think creating the levees in the first place was STUPID. Before these levees, the New Orleans area had grassy area that was naturally flooded by the waters around it. This area that flooded was NOT the entire area of New Orleans. It was actually slightly north of “town”. One of the reasons these levees were constructed was so people could build houses and businesses around area that was once quiet saturated (flooded). Basically it was all about expansion – something the U.S. knows a lot about.

In this case, it came back to bite the poor folk who live here in the A$$. So who is to blame? Would I say the President? Not necessarily. But I sure do think it was foolish to have a city of 500,000 built up around an area prone to a catastrophic event. It was a matter of time.

I dont mean to sound offensive, but nursie... Alot of what you said has already been said. Go back and check my first post on this thread.

Reiteration of questions calls for reiteration of answers. No offense taken if none really meant.
