I cant see more than a foot in my pond water, its not cloudy, it just really dark, I tested it and everything came back fine.
its been set up for months.
whats going on???
thanks

yep, its rated for up to 1000 gals,my pond is a 700g.
it doesnt look dirty, its just dark, which makes getting fallen rocks and such out kinda hard.

What plants do you have in there? Are they potted? Perhaps some inner material that the nursery added has finally leaked out? Or perhaps some of the plants are dying and inking the pond?

I have water hyacinth, water lettuce and some other plant(cant think of the name right now, sorry),but anytime I see dead/dying plants I trim them...
my mom thinks draining the pond and starting over would make it better(she loves the fish and cant see them unless they are at the surface..)

Sounds to me like....1) one of your potted pond plants has been tiped over , or your fish are diggin in to them. 2) your pond maybe getting runoff, say from rain running into an uneven side into the pond. 3) If it has a pond liner you may have a hole/leak allowing dirt into the pond. If the fish are digging into the plants you could top the potted plants with pea gravel to help keep the soil in. If the pond is older than just this spring, you could have a sludge/mud/muck build up on the bottom. When the fish swim low they could be kicking up the gunk. If the waters more of a greenish murky tint you could be overstocked, or overfeeding or need more plants to keep up with the fish waste. Good luck.

Are the fish Koi? Cuz if so they will attack any plant as well as stirring up any muck at the bottom of the pond. Comets and Fancies won't be doing that.

How much sun does the pond get? What color is the water? Dont drain and start over just yet. If you have a algae problem that will not help at all.
