Actually, I did drill it. I went to the local hardware store and bought a 1/4" glass / ceramic tile bit. Set it up on a drill press at work and drilled the hole for the tubing. There are instructions on the web for drilling a hole in glass.
With the 1/4" hole it should have been a snug fit for the tubing, but the jar rotated a little while I was drilling and the hole turned out kind of oblong, so I had to use a little extra silicon to seal it up.
Although... if I could have found one of the jars in Zigman's post, that would have been cool too.
