Hey all, I just joined and posted some pics of my set up in the introduction area and it seems I already have problems with the community.

I inherited this aquarium from my wife's aunt and the fish I currently have are,

Two cichlids, one an auratus and one possibly an elongate mbuna.

One Yoyo loach.

One featherfin squeaker.

Two other fish I didn't have pictures of last night but now do and haven't identified.

These next two pictures are of a fish that likes to hide behind one of my filters.

This fish I didn't really even notice as he was hiding in one of the rock caves.

So, I gathered from my introduction thread that the cichlids will need a bigger tank and the yoyo loach should be with at least 5 of his own kind, in a larger tank.

I guess the only fish I really should keep in there is the featherfin. If you guys could help me identify these last two fish and some suitable tank mates, I would be most grateful.

Ever get the feeling that you are soon going to have multiple tank syndrome? hehe

Cant help on those 2 pics they aint very clear.. dont forget you can always join us in the chat room for some real time chat, and help or whatever. :)

Hi, tank looks good but..
The cichlids arn't really a community fish and would need a larger tank 55g min. You also need more of them to control aggresion.
The loachs like to have company so should be in a shoal of five or more, they would also require a larger tank.

Thanks guys, I understand the need to separate the cichlids and the loaches into their own larger tanks. I was really wondering if someone could help me identify the last fish I posted.

The other catfish that hides behind the filter is a spotted doras, thanks to whoever in chat confirmed that.

Is my 33 gallon tank big enough for the featherfin squeaker, spotted doras, and the last fish pictured? What tankmates are good for these fish? And finally, what do I do with fish I am unable to care for? (i.e. two cichlids and a yoyo loach) Will a pet store buy them from me?

Seems to be correct, the images I've found of the fish you named are similar to the fish in my tank. Thanks a lot!

Now, I'm going to adjust my tank around the garra, talking catfish, and featherfin.

The talking catfish looks like a spotted raphael catfish to me. I have a striped one, pretty much the same, just striped instead of spotted. Its a pretty peaceful fish (as far as I've seen) that prefers to keep to itself. So long as you have a cave or hidey-hole its just gonna stay in there until you drop food in. When it smells food, it comes straight out and starts vacuuming it up! No food on the bottom of the tank is safe...mine needs to lose some pounds (or ounces)...:D
