My Angel doesn't seem to be eating

Hey guy... I bought a half black angel about a week ago, she obviously likes the space since she keeps swimming in and out of the LRs. What I've noticed though, is that she's not eating during feedings, I also have a piece of Romane, and seaweed clipped on the tank and I haven't seen the angel pic at it. I have seen it pick at stuff on the LR, Any advice?

Angels tend to go more for sponges than for greens. There are Angel forumala foods available that might be more appealing.

I also read the following on ThatPetPlace.com website:
Pygmy Angels are grazers that do best on a diet of frozen meaty foods with plenty of greenstuffs. They are also often seen eating detritous off of live rock
I have noticed my angel nipping at things on the live rock and other than not eating during feedings, she seems pretty healthy. Maybe I'm just worrying too much :o
 
I use Formula One frozen--it's been a staple part of my bicolor's diet for 4 year snow, and he's a thick chunk.
 
I use the same food OrionGirl uses for my Flame angel. A trick for finnicky eaters is garlic - pull a small amount of water out of the tank (about 1/2 cup), and crush a clove of garlic in it. Let the cup sit an hour or so, strain out the garlic, and add the frozen angel formula. Most fish love garlic and it can kick start an appetite in a finnicky eater.

I went back to where I got her from and asked if she was eating, and what were they feeding her, and they said Formula One and that she was eating. I bought the Formula One, and I tried it yesterday... I didn't see my angel eat any of it. I also bought some live brine.... and I tried that today, we'll I think I figured it out, and this may seem strange, but I guess she doesn't like to be watched when eating. :dance I saw her piicking away at the brine and later on I also saw her nipping at the romane. I don't know if the brine stirred her appetite, but I'm glad to see her eating.

I'm also going to try the Garlic tomorrow, see if that keeps her eating ;) thanks guys.

Oh one more thing, I have molting going on. I have 3 peppermints, and I noticed I hadn't seen one in a day or two. This mornig I saw something that looked like shimp skin :) (this is my first time ever) my question about this is... Is this a good sign, I mean over all about the tank. All my levels are perfect as of last week, I'll be testing waters on sunday. I hope all will still be well

One of my cleaner shrimps molted the first night in the tank. It's not a sign of poor water conditions and it will be a continual event. In a previous tank I had a hermit crab. I awoke one morning to find crab pieces all over the tank and was horrified. I wondered what could have possibly torn him apart like that. I then noticed him driving a new shell around the tank. I guess that the fish were picking on his old skin and scattered it around the tank.


I hope that the garlic does the trick for your angel. So far, it's been a foolproof trick for me.

So I just fed the fish about an hour ago, and I didn't even do the garlic thing. but my angel is eating, she's a very "graceful" very "proper" and extremely "lady like" but over all she's eating now. unlike the chromis' who feed as if never they've eaten before.
As far as the molting, think the Other two might be doing it now, i have'vt seen them all night.
 
Good to hear that she's eating. Tense times when a prize fish won't eat.......................
