Beautiful betta and setup... but I agree about the live plants, and bettas happen to love java moss, so that would be a good plant to get. It's low light too, in case you don't have a good lighting setup. =]
My betta loves Java Moss. Sometimes, he even rests on it sometimes in between mad dashes after the Ghost Shrimp who eat the pellets he misses. :]

Hmmmmmm I don't know too much about live plants is the Java moss just for decoration or does the betta eat it? The tank is only 3 gallons so I want to leave him room to swim.
LOL bettas are carnivores. yes, it is for decor. you'll be amazed how much nicer it looks with the moss in there. remove that "no fishing" sign and replace it with a piece of driftwood with some anubias nana or lace java fern and viola! you've got a lovely planted tank.
