Hello,
I know this is a strange request but here it goes:
My brother passed away and I have since then been caring for his many many fish. I knew nothing about them but somehow felt compelled to keep them. The people here in Aquaria Central have been very very helpful and I thank them. Here is my dilema. I was wondering if anyone knew a nice saying and pictures that I could put on my brother's tombstone to show his love for his fish. He had so so many varieties that a single fish just wont do. I was wondering if anyone had something witty that they had heard somewhere or perhaps from their own creative minds? I welcome any thoughts that you may have.
Thank you for reading
All my best,
Sara Hall

"No human being, however great, or powerful, was ever so free as a fish."
- John Ruskin, The Two Paths (lecture 5)

"Nothing is as clean as a fish."
-Welsch Proverb

Here is my slight twist on Lord Home's passage from The Way the Wind Blows, in which his piece reads "Fishing" and my version "Fish keeping" :

"Fish keeping is unquestionably a form of madness but, happily, for the once bitten there is no cure."

Please let me know his name so I can mention him during my prayers.

Thank you so so much for your suggestions. It's so hard to get myself to go to the cemetary. Perhaps one day it will be easier. I drew a picture of a fisherman kneeling over into a lake and letting the fish he caught go. And I wrote "With love to my brother Bob, a kind heart, May you always catch that one fish you can set free."
Thank you again.
Best,
Sara

I like that

My sympathies and respects.

I am sorry for the loss of your brother. I just wanted to say that I think it is a good thing to keep your brother's fish after his passing, however do not feel as though you are obligated. Taking care of pets after the loss of someone close to you can sometimes be more traumatic then beneficial, especially if aquaria was a large part of your brother's life. All I am saying is, if its a problem for you, do not feel ashamed or uncaring if you decide to give them away rather then keep them. Your brother would understand if it is painful for you as it would be a constant reminder of the loss. Just my two cents. Take care and God bless in your time of grief. I wish you all the best.

I am sorry for your loss, It's never fun loosing someone especially someone as close as a brother. I wish you the best
