I recently adopted a kitten, Rogue, and it looks like shes got pink eye. She's had it for about 2 weeks and i've been cleaning daily, but she doesnt seem to be getting better.

and more bad news, our other cat Logan has started squinting too!

I've done some searching online but cant find any thing on curing it.

Does anyone know how I can get them fixed up? I'd like to avoid going to the vet if possible.

just go to the vet.

they need drops from the vet. It is contagious so it is highly likely both cats will need to be brought in.... there's no home remedy that can cure it and you need to be sure it's not something other than because there are some infections of the eye that if left alone could have permanent damage.

It could be:

Calici virus - Semi-common, usually described as "pink eye".

Rhino virus - One of the most common problems reffered to as pink eye.

Chlamidia - Not that common.

Go to the vet

I never updated you guys on this...

well, I took him into the vet and turns out he has Herpes of the eye... i dont remember the medical term for it but yeah, pretty gross huh...

he's getting eye drops 4 times a day and things are clearing up for him.

rhinotracheitis virus...
are you thinking of this word...

but glad the vet helped ya out,, cuz the longer ya waited the worst it could have gotten...

awwwww, glad he's going to be alright. This is a huge reason why when the pet is sick, it needs to go to the vet rather than having a "home diagnosis".

Thanks... very true.

Whoa! I have no idea...

But yeah, he can open his eyes now and the red has gone away.
