I had to move my 10 gallon shrimp tank to above the kitchen sink so the kids would stay out of it. So I took advantage of the move to make changes.

I took out the sand and put in flourite. I have a dark brown background. I took the long intake tube and sponges from a sponge filter and attached it to my intake of mini-canister filter. Behind the rocks where you can't see it are a few layers of leaf litter, with broken pieces of a marimo ball on top of that. Under the spray bar is some type of plant that I put java moss, christmas moss and guppy grass in. And in the holes in the rocks I stuck pieces of marimo ball.

The shrimp are thrilled. The love the spong filter and the java moss with the current running through it, and the babies are all in the marimo parts. They are out all the time now, have turned a dark red and I can just tell they are happy. The pictures of course don't look as good as it does in person.
