My first job was working at a convenient store. There was a married couple that would stop in every morning for coffee, doughnuts, and a few minutes of chat before heading to work. One morning, the wife entered the store alone and looked as if she were really miffed. Her husband had stayed in the car and asked if she could pick him up a pack of ciggs for him. Instead of purchasing his usual smokes, she asked for a pack Bugler (nasty stuff) and some cigg papers so that "he can roll his own!"
Wasn't a couple of mornings later that the exact opposite happened. The guy came in, his wife sitting in the car. He looked pretty miffed as well. He bought a pack of cotton balls, a small pack of toliet paper, and some yarn so that "she could roll her own!"
I still get a good chuckle when I think of that. She must have been pretty embarrassed because she did not come in to buy what she needed. Can't say I blame her... LOL
