:shakehead: So I ordered a couple fish for the first time through the mail, used express shipping, and there were guaranteed to be here by 3pm yesterday, they never showed up. So this morning I went to the postofficeright when they opened, and talked to a lady. She said that it never got scanned in Denver, but the Denver shipment was coming in and it could be in there, just they missed scanning it. She was gonna call me at 10am, but never did so I called her at 11pm, theyare still going through the packages, but so far nothing..

What do I do????!?!?

I was really worrying before I talked to her this morning, but she said it should be there, so I was calm, but now it's almost and hour and a half since the shipment arrived and they haven't called yet. She knows that it's fish, and was really nice, but I am seriously freaking out now...

I emailed the guy yesterday and today that I bought them from, and he hasn't wrote me back yet..

:shakehead::help2:

when were the fish shipped?

I've had sensitive fish in the mail for 3 days with no issues.. but that depends on how they were packaged for shipping.

I can just offer condolences and hope that they do arrive safe and sound. With the USPS, expect the absolute worst and you'll never be dissapointed. It is like they cloned Curly, Larry, Moe, Shemp, Joe, Curly-Joe, Abbot, Costello, Laurel and Hardy and that's who works there.

Monday, so they should of been here Tuesday. I had it all planned out on Tuesday so that while I was at school my boyfriend was home, when we both were at schoo my sister drove an hour down to be here, and then when she took me to work my friend was there, so from 1pm-9pm I had someone here at all times just waiting.. gaaaahh!!!

THE LADY FROM THE POST OFFICE CALLED JUST NOW AS I WAS TYPING!!! They got the package, but she didn't stop the delivery guy from taking it because she was busy up front. So now he has it, and she has no idea when he will get here. And normally, the delivery guy isn't here until after 5pm-6PM. *sigh* Can't they just call him and ask for my package to be delivered first? I mean he has to have some way so they communicate with him, right? Argh. I am missing all my classes today now as well.... grrrr.

I'll update you all when they finally get here and if they made it... hell I'll prob post pictures! :D

...until then back to water changing and aquascaping..

Thanks for all the helpful thoughts and condolances :) really does help :)

What a pain. Let's just hope the fish are okay! A lot of idiots work for USPS, but, to be fair, they're under a lot of pressure to perform their job in a speedy fashion. As a result, a lot of mail and packages get lost. I complained about my outgoing mail not getting picked up so my carrier stopped delivering my mail entirely, claiming my box was too full. I have to go down there today.:angryfire:

I recently had an overnight shipment of fish get temporarily lost by the post office, too. It took me two days to get them, and the fish were fine. Your fish will probably be fine, and be sure you get your postal refund!

Once I bought some platies from a member here, and they were lost EIGHT days. Yes, and by a miracle, by the time I finally received them that chilly November they were all alive!! They were shipped in breather bags. Good luck, I hope you have no more problems getting your fish.

They could call him, but chances are it would **** him off and he'd step on the box or throw it around the truck before delivering it. As Jannika noted, the post office has us hostage and can pretty much do whatever they want. I hate them and everything about them and if I could, I'd quit the mail (like Kramer).

THEY ARRIVED!! Alive and happy! They are now in the tank..but there is just one thing...I got shipped the wrong fish! At least I think I did, is there anyway for a female longfin blue eye pleco to turn an orangey/white with a brown tail..like a calico?

I'll post a pic in a few

Glad they made it, I've had fish lost in the mail for 6 days before. Fortunately the shipper packed them super well so they were fine even though it was winter. They were also plecs so they were inherently tough fish. Blue eyed BNs can be a yellowish orange color. Most of mine are yellowey (which I like).
