and she is HUGE and pregnant most of the time.

she had some fry a few weeks ago but they got gobbled up almost as fast as she had them, i saw they were born too late, but she looked different the other nite and had mucus comming out her rear end and her rear end also looked like an outie belly button.........i put her in the birthing net/enclosure and she had two fry.............she seemed "done" the next day and i move her out, the two little fishies are doing great so far.......but her is always bothering her...........

he i think is a sailfin molly she is a ballon molly........i have a spotted black and white balloon, with a spotted black and white sailfin molly boyfriend too.............he also chases her but nothing like this other one........

thanks

you need more females. they constantly want to breed and a single male will stress out a single female in many cases. sometimes they will be ok. Just pick up 1 or 2 more females for him to distribute his "chase". Kyle

sounds like a good idea, will get another and let you know how the chasing goes...

:p

Hi!!!

I think Id agree with snakeskinner here, I have heard in the LFS before that if there are less males in the tank than females (Maybe 1 male to 3 females) then the male will be able to choose which female to wind up....

I shouldn't really worry about fish chasing each other, My Zebra Danios can't seem to ever leave each other alone, I think they're playing with each other in a way??!!

Let us know how you get on.....

Cheers

Dan

thanks for your replies, i did get one more...

he was still bothering Piggy that what we call the female cause she eats like a pig.........i put the male in the net holding area (a breeding net) for a few days to teach him a lesson, he seemed to mellow out after that......

i figure if i dont seperate piggy the other fishes are just gonna snack on the babies..........i managed to rescue two last time she had babies...........
