My Mom's Birthday Gift

My mom's birthday is on Monday, and she's been wanting an orchid for a long time. She also told me (when we saw these at the store), "I've always wanted one. I was going to buy one and put it in the bathroom but you put a fish tank where I was going to put one".

So I got one for her for her birthday, but she'll just have to find some other place to put it. I thought I'd take some pictures because it's really pretty! Also, don't mind the mess on the wall... It's dog snot from like 2 years ago I never cleaned up. It's from when my dog had kennel cough.

I should really clean that off...

Awesome phalenopsis! Don't cut that stem off after the flowers fall. It might die back a bit, but leave it there. New inflorescesences will sprout from it eventually.
 
Pretty flowers. Shame you couldn't stick it in the fish tank ;)

Very nice, your mom should be quite pleased. I really wouldn't have noticed the dog snot if you didn't mention it.
 
:drool: STUNNING ORCHID!! Good photography as well. I find whenever I try to catch the real beauty of a gorgeous plant, it always ends up looking flat and lifeless. Good Job...Good kid...:clap:
