I need some help on deciding what to do with the new 55 gal tank im buying.
I'm about to buy a 55 gal this weekend for my 2 Red Belly Pirahna. I want to have live plants (amazon sword) and bod wood in it. As of now I think im going do get a Magnum 350 delux for it with a Undergravel filter. If you have any suggestions please tell me. Im not sure what to do.

Red-belly Piranha grows to about 10 inches in the aquarium, sometimes full grown at a foot long. What you need to think about is 55 gallons per fish at full size.
Correct me if I’m mistaken because I never own one of this Red-belly Piranha’s!!:)

ozone is correct,a 55 will be too small for two full grown piranhas, they are also messy fish so a under gravel filter would surely be clogged up and be un-efective .And a mag 350 wont cut it for filtration.
maybe a 90 gal, with a large canister filter filter and a hob filter as well.
good luck

I agree....
Get a Filstar XP-3 and an AquaClear HOB. Skip the HOB if you want lots of live plants. Surface agitation is not good with live plants.

Yes, i know that a full grown Red Belly will be about 10" but right now they are both about 5 - 6" long, and I was hoping that a 55 gal. would suffice for now, but I will look into a bigger tank. In the tank that I have the Fish in now I have a Bio Wheel and a UnderGravel filter and it works great, but it all of you guys think that it will clog, I'll leave it out. And yes I'm going to have live plants in it.

~Thanks~
