My New Lovely Bettas

My betta spits out his food when i give him too many pellets. I feed him betta pellets and i give him about 3-4 each day. Anything more he usually spits out. They also spit it out so they can try and soften it up with the water and then eat it again. You are really supposed to feed them meekly twice a day. Like 2 pellets in the am and 2 at night. I usually feed my betta once a day and give him 4 pellets or so in the morning before i go to work. Sometimes i give him 1 or 2 at night too

Keep the bettas seperated too.

Hi , thnx for replies , yeah i know , before these to beauties , i hadtwo bettas ( i still have one of them now ) , she dosn t spit out anymore , i seperated them , but i put an stone with lotsa hidin places in the bowl and try them together to see if they can live together ! the male one starts to chase the female one again , BUT the female betta beat the other one anytime she can ! she took some of his crown tails OFF ! so i seperated them ! and i put her in my 55gls empty tank ! she so so so happy in there ! ( the tank will not remain empty ! lol )

How about buying a tank that has dividers, just make sure there is enough room for both fish on either side of the dividers. If you get a 15 gallon tank(long) put the dividers in. Each betta will have 5 gallons to itself to call his or her own home/space. That way, they can see each other and the male wont chase her or kill her. just be sure not to lift the dividers when doing a tank cleaning. If you plan on cleaning the entire tank, house each betta in a separate container until the tank is clean, put the dividers back in place, fill the tank and add your bettas. You can also feed them Betta bites apart from the bloodworms your giving them.

It was cruel to house them in the cup together. I've seen bettas in cups that actually are urine specimen cups with little holes made at the top so they can breath. Its HORRIBLE. Thank god you bought those 2 and gave them a nice home. Good for you.
