Nice bettas! Are they being kept together? What are they being housed in?

hi , i keep them in my old betta 's 2gls bowl , but i separated them now cuz of the female one eating behavior and i think sometimes the male one did bother her :P ... i m feeding them frozen bloodworms ...

They can't live together in a bowl because of betta behavior. The male cannot afford to have a non ready to breed female in his territory because she may chase off ready to breed females. So if he finds a female who doesn't want to spawn in his breeding territory, he chases her off. If the space is too small, she can't leave his breeding territory. Then they either spawn or he tries to chase her out and then kills her for being "unwilling" to leave or spawn.

With that in mind, if you want a male betta living with a/ female bettas (s). you must have room for the female(s) to flee the male's territory. Smallest tank this has worked out for me has been a 30 gal and it depended on the male. It seemed greater success happens when they are raised together from fry.
My last male I tried didn't work out so I'm housing him separately.

Good luck with your pair, hopefully your female was just overstressed from being housed together in small quarters.
