IMG_20241008_213158.jpgIMG_20241008_213354.jpgMy little brother bought a pair of Orange Mollies today, when I looked at them I saw tiny black dots on their body and fins. I've currently put them in a quarantine tank. I just wanted to know if my other fish will start having problems if I add these to my main aquarium.

It could just be black pigment showing up in different places on your fish OR it could be they were raised outdoors in ponds or vats that wild birds were able to access.

I would just quarantine them for a couple weeks regardless to be sure they are healthy before adding to your established aquarium.

I've quarantined them. I'll keep them that way for a few weeks and keep an eye as you recommend. Thanks

Those tiny black spots on your mollies might just be their natural coloration or could indicate a mild issue like ammonia spots. Keep an eye on your water quality and the fish's behavior to be sure. Enjoy your new fish friends!
