That is a nice fish.
It strikes me that if you already have some java moss in other tanks, just tear off a hunk and you have a new plant for your new fish.

He came in a cup. I filled the tank just with just enough water so that when I placed the cup into the tank it wouldnt overflow into the cup, I let it set for an hour. Every 30 mins or so I added a tiny bit of my aquarium water to the cup until the majority of water was mine and not the stores. This way he would have gotten used to the ph lvls. After that was all done, I fill the tank up all the way and put him into the water and he's doing great!
I do have Java Moss in our other bettas tank, I guess I could take some of his. xD

Yea! Good for you. Go to the store for cat litter and end up buying a really cool Betta lol! I went to the store once for windsheild wiper refills and came back with a 'Walmart free puppy'. So count your blessings. I bet he thinks that 2 1/2 gal is one heck of a condo after that cup.
